My review

Unboxing and First ImpressionsThe OKSIWA LED tail lights arrived well protected, which is always a relief with fragile automotive components. The manufacturer used a double-box setup, with the inner box labeled "Auto Lamp" and packed with thick, form-fitting foam that kept both light assemblies completely secure during transit. Inside the box, you get exactly what you need: the left and right LED tail light assemblies and a basic instruction manual. There are no extra wiring harnesses or loose components to worry about because the units are engineered as a direct plug-and-play setup. Out of the box, the lenses and housings feel solid and well-constructed. I put together a full unboxing video as well to give a complete visual breakdown of how they arrive and what to expect when you open the package. InstallationStarting on the rear driver side, removing the factory tail light was straightforward. Identifying the correct plugs for the new OKSIWA LED housing was simple, and the electrical connections themselves are truly plug-and-play. However, I did run into a minor fitment issue with the housing design that needs to be mentioned. While the top and middle factory bulb sockets twisted and locked into the new housing perfectly, the bottom socket hole appeared to be slightly misaligned. I could not get the bottom plug to seat completely and twist-lock into place. Moving over to the passenger side, I encountered the exact same issue. The top and middle plugs locked in effortlessly, but the bottom plug suffered from the same misalignment on both sides. Due to the fact that these are full LED units, the lights function perfectly via the internal wiring harness, meaning the physical factory socket does not need to host a bulb anymore. However, leaving that bottom factory plug unable to lock into the housing is a major concern for long-term weatherproofing. Over time, moisture, mud, and road debris could get into that unsealed opening. This looks like a consistent engineering oversight on the mold that the manufacturer needs to tweak. Performance and TestingEvaluating the actual performance of the OKSIWA tail lights turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. When you first turn on the headlights, the daylight running lights look excellent. They feature a sharp, modern "C" shape that is nice and bright, which immediately updates the look of the rear end. However, the other light functions did not quite live up to that initial impression during daytime and garage testing. Brake and Reverse Light BrightnessThe brake lights were not as bright as expected. My previous tail lights were highly visible, which gave me a lot of confidence regarding safety on the road. These feel noticeably dimmer by comparison. The reverse lights also came across as quite dim. On my previous setup, the reverse lights actively illuminated the area behind the truck while backing up, but these don't seem to have that same output. I plan to run a follow-up test at night to see how they manage in total darkness, but initial impressions on visibility are lower than hoped. Turn Signals and Hyper-Flash IssueThe most significant operational issue occurred while testing the turn signals and hazard lights. On both the driver and passenger sides, the blinkers operate normally for about two seconds before immediately shifting into a rapid "hyper-flash."Typically, aftermarket LED tail lights include a built-in resistor or relay to regulate the voltage and prevent this exact problem. To troubleshoot, I actually uninstalled the housing to inspect the internal wiring. The inline resistor was intact, but upon touching it, I discovered it was extremely hot. The built-in component is definitely failing to regulate the flash rate correctly. Weatherproofing Concerns and FitmentWhile the smoked lenses look fantastic cosmetically against the truck, a significant structural issue became apparent after checking the final fitment against the body paneling. OKSIWA advertises these tail lights as completely weatherproof. However, there is a substantial, visible gap along the top edge of the housings. Looking down through the top of the installed light assemblies, you can actually see clear air straight through to the other side of the truck bed. When you marry this gaping upper tolerance issue with the fact that the bottom factory bulb sockets cannot seal properly into the housings, it creates a perfect storm for long-term reliability issues. Water, heavy moisture, wash soap, and road grit will easily work their way inside the assembly and behind the body panels, which will drastically cut down the lifespan of the electronics. Initial VerdictIt is unfortunate to run into a few of these performance and physical hardware hurdles because the physical styling of the lights is top-tier. I genuinely love the look of the smoked lens on the truck, but a product has to perform just as well as it looks. Before I give a final review, I would love to see if maybe this is an isolated issue with a single production batch, or if you can recommend a revised version or alternate model that seals properly and functions safely.
